PUBLICATION
Our models, published and peer-reviewed
By Oncoger team ·
Saying a clinical tool is validated is easy; being able to show it is another matter. The models behind PROTEGER were described and evaluated in an article published in the Journal of Geriatric Oncology, a peer-reviewed journal specializing in geriatric oncology.
Title: Machine learning models as a supporting tool to decide systemic therapy for older adults with cancer.
Reference: Journal of Geriatric Oncology, Volume 17, Issue 6, July 2026, 103031.
Why it matters
Peer review puts the work under the scrutiny of independent specialists: what data was used, how the models were trained and evaluated, and what performance they reached. That is the difference between a marketing claim and one anyone can go and check.
In the publication, the eligibility AUC was 0.84.
